Nigeria Aids Counselling Organization (NACO) is a Non-Governmental Organization, founded in 1997 to provide humanitarian services, principally to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS including Widows, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Victims of Trafficking, Elderly, Physically Challenged persons, Youth and Migrants at the community levels. NACO is registered with Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs, Social Development Youths and Sports, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), US Government Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) with Registration number (850514). NACO is also registered with EFCC Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML). NACO is in partnership/collaboration with most networks working on HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.

Psychosocial Achievement

  • 1452 children were reached with counseling support.
  • 639 children were reached with Kids club activities on Life Building Skills, games, rhyme, Health Education, Nutrition Education and recreation.
  •  650 Children were reached with Adolescent club activities (Life Building Skills, recreational, Gender Norms)
  • Through Kids and Adolescent Club activities OVC are now united competing in activities to represent their clusters. Their social life has improved and they now have a sense of belonging.

Education Block Granting Achievement

  • 986 Children are presently in school
  •  Provision of Recreational Equipment for 569 Children Direct beneficiaries of Block Granting in schools

HEALTH/ NUTRITION ACHIEVEMENT

  • 506 caregivers reached with Health Education.
  • 355 caregivers now know their HIV status
  • 355 caregivers received group counseling on Nutrition Education.
  • 250 caregivers reached with group food Hygiene counseling.
  • 300 caregivers reached with Nutrition Education on adequate diet and practical food demonstration.
  • 325 children were reach with HIV  test and counseling status
  • 1452 children now know their HIV status.
  • 2252 children were reached with health services.
  • Number tested on HIV 1452
